Claire Blumenthal Miller, 91, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2016. Claire was the loving wife for 55 years of the late Hymen Blumenthal; beloved mother of Sidney (Jacqueline) Blumenthal, Marcia Blumenthal Fields and the late Edward (Sun) Blumenthal; cherished grandmother of Leslie (Seth) Katz, Alexander Fields, Benjamin Fields, Bruce Blumenthal, Max Blumenthal and Paul Blumenthal; adoring great-grandmother of Ruthie Katz; and loving sister of the late Alice Stone Novak. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews and cousins. At the age of 83, Claire had her Bat Mitzvah. At the age of 86, Claire married her beloved husband Bernard Miller. Their wonderful and remarkable courtship and wedding was covered by the Chicago Tribune and WBBM TV news. Claire is the dear stepmother of Anthony (Cecilia Melin) Miller and fond step-grandmother of Magda and Olivia Miller. She lived a full and rich life and had a very long and successful career as a real estate broker. She lovingly touched family, friends and all those around her. Service Tuesday, 11:30 a.m. at Am Shalom at 840 Vernon Ave., Glencoe, IL 60022. Interment Westlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions to JourneyCare, 2050 Claire Court, Glenview, IL 60025 or Am Shalom.
