Orville Berkson, 94, died on May 20, 2017 after a life filled with family and countless blessings. He was the beloved husband of Murial Berkson, who was his wife of 70 years, and who predeceased him; father of Andrea (Arnold) Levin, Candice (Michael) Gordon, and Stuart (Linda) Berkson; grandfather of Benjamin Levin, Jonathan (Lindsay) Levin, Jennifer (Leland) Jaffe, Melissa (Scott) Sabin, Josh (Alexis) Gordon, Rachel (Adam) Schupack, and Allison (Jonathan) Drory; and great-grandfather to Casey and Camryn Levin, Abigail and Caroline Jaffe, Ariel and Samantha Sabin, Scarlett and Sadie Gordon, and Teddy and Harper Schupack. A proud American and former Marine in World War II, he was born in Whiting, Indiana, raised on the South Side of Chicago, and lived most of his life in Wilmette. He was a practicing CPA for more than 50 years, loved golf and the White Sox, and was devoted to his family.
