Dr. Lee Getter, retired colonel in the United States Army, served with distinction during the Vietnam War, awarded the Legion of Merit Medal. Dr. Getter was a retired professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University; beloved husband for 57 years of the late Ena, nee Liebowitz; loving father of Karen (Russell) Nanning and Stephanie (Scott) Sagerman; dear father-in-law of the late Stephen Robinson; adored grandfather of Amy (Glenn) Walton, Philip (Laura) Robinson, Rebecca, Daniel, Adam and Sarah Sagerman; proud great grandfather of Camden and Bailey; cherished brother of Florence Goldberg and the late Marion Mendelson and Sylvia Goldman. Service Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at Temple Chai, 1670 Checker Rd., Long Grove (1 blk W. of Arlington Heights Rd.). Dr. Getter will be buried with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date.
