Irving Lerner, age 100, of Evanston, served honorably as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II, he was a bombardier for 35 missions, including D-Day. Irving was honored by President Barack Obama in his Veterans Day 2016 speech at Arlington National Cemetery; beloved husband for 62 years of the late Faye, nee Haimson; loving father of Susan (Joseph) Elinoff, Rita (John) Cormulley, David (Susan Ricker) Lerner and Carole Lerner; adored G-Pa of David, Jason, Jennifer (Brian), Timothy and Grace; proud great grandfather of Olivia, Eli and Ramona; dear brother of Annette (late Irving) Starr; devoted companion of Hattie Buell.
