Janice Fancheon Smith, nee Grant, age 86, of Chicago; beloved wife for 58 years of the late Leonard; loving mother of Lendy (Mark) Muller and Jamie (Steven) Shapiro; adored Grandma and Nonny of Samantha (Geoff) Swerdlin, Jaclyn (Dr. Adam) Nader, Nicole (fiancé Brian Duckler) Shapiro, Alex (fiancée Shelby Jackowitz) Muller, Eve Muller and David Muller; proud great grandmother of Nathaniel; devoted daughter of the late Dr. Samuel and Eve Grant. Graveside service Monday, 12:30 p.m. at Memorial Park, Section Anshe Emet, 9900 Gross Point Rd., Skokie. Janice was an accomplished pianist and professional opera singer.
