Obituary for Bernard Bornstein

Bernard “Bud” Bornstein, born May 18, 1927, a fighter his entire life, fought his last and final fight, and passed away peacefully, on March 7, 2023. Dedicated husband to Shirley for 75 years, proud father to his five boys Bruce (Maureen), Ira (Sandy), Ian, Scott (Ruth), and Mitchell. Loving grandfather to Shelley, Bradley, Joshua, Adam, Aaron, Jordan, Gabriel, Samara, Brett, Seth, and Nicole. Great grandfather to Avram, Amari, Bodie, Asher, Max, Isabella, Ryan, and Blake. Devoted son of the late Isadore and the late Dora Bornstein; cherished brother of the late Shirley Sussman and the late Harry, late Marvin, and late Jerry Bornstein. Bernard was there unconditionally, and was the rock for all who knew and loved him so dearly. Widely respected and admired by all who worked with and for him in the construction industry, self-made with more than 5 decades in business, his buildings will remain standing for years to come as a testament to his skill as a general contractor. The void created by his absence is one hole that will never be filled. Service Thursday, 1:30 p.m. CT at The Chapel, 195 N. Buffalo Grove Rd., Buffalo Grove (1 Block N. of Lake Cook Rd.).
