Obituary for Burdge H. Diamond

Burdge H. Diamond, age 94, born and raised on Long Island. Burdge and his wife Elayne moved to Sayville, NY, where they raised their two sons and opened Lad and Lassie, a very popular children’s clothing store for 38 years. After retirement, they eventually moved to Boynton Beach and then to Lake Worth, Florida. Wherever he lived, Burdge was extremely active in his community, temple and many charitable organizations, including Kiwanis and Free & Accepted Masons. He was a true leader and a man of integrity and faith. He was the beloved husband for almost 73 years of Elayne Diamond, nee Bernstein; loving father of Ed (Melanie) Diamond and Rich (Hong Liu-Diamond) Diamond; adored grandfather of Ariel (Brad Gillette) Diamond, Lu (Yuan Shuai) Liu and the late Corey Diamond; devoted son of the late Isidore P. and the late Bertha (nee Levenbron) Diamond; dear brother of the late Leonard (late Gloria) Diamond; cherished brother-in-law of the late Robert (Gloria) Bernstein. He loved life and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Graveside service Friday, 12:30 p.m. CT at Shalom Memorial Park, Rand & Wilke Rds., Arlington Heights.
