Obituary for Jacob Harris "Jakey" Grossman

Jacob Harris Grossman (“Jakey”) brought a special light into this world. His vibrant personality shined a light on everyone that crossed his path. In his short twenty-two years, Jakey left his mark on this world and changed so many lives. He may have been small, but he was certainly mighty. Jakey will be remembered by his incredibly loving and devoted parents, Rachel and Alan Grossman; his best friend and sister, Talia Grossman; his dedicated grandparents, Fran and Mike Grossman and Claire and Warren Pulner and Theresa Pulner (z”l); and his ever-loving aunts and uncles and cousins. Jakey was loved by so many. He was involved in USY, Buddy Baseball, Chai Lifeline, Kids of Courage, HUGS, Best Buddies, Friendship Circle, National Ability Center in Park City Utah and the Congregation Beth Shalom Community. We are in Jewish Disability Advocacy month and it’s only fitting, knowing how many people entered the medical field or special education because of the impact Jakey made. He was so proud to be Jewish and despite his disability, he would not let anything stop him. Jakey passed just after Shabbos started surrounded by close family and friends. Jakey will forever be singing musicals, ‘80s, and Jewish Music. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Fanconi Anemia Research Fund, Kids of Courage, or Chai Lifeline. Don’t Stop Believin’.
