Dr. Jacob Sosniak, 89, of Chicago, Il , born June 30, 1931, Konskawola, Poland,
beloved husband of Florence (nee Slatoff) Sosniak father of Ruth (Marc Boxerman) Sosniak and Irene (Gary) Savine, grandfather of Seth Morris Savine and Serena Rose Savine, brother of Riva Ben-Horin, uncle of Narda Ben-Horin and Hava Ben-Horin Abramsky, passed away on May 21,2021 surrounded by his family. A Polish survivor of Soviet conquest during World War II, his migrations took him around the world as he strove to keep his family together and form his own. He earned a PhD in physics from McGill University and worked in research and development for Bell Laboratories and subsequently many of America’s Fortune 500 tech companies and the U.S. Navy. Married for 58 years, his greatest pleasures included traveling the world with his wife and spending time with his family. Loyal and gentle, with a tremendous intellect, he enjoyed history, current events, chess, classical music and a good joke. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
