Sally, Perry, Robin…..
You have our condolences…..!!!
Four words that are said as we hold your hands and, in our hearts we hold your soul…but, please allow Bea and I to write a few more words that come from our hearts…We Hold you in our hearts with caring and sympathy…We hold you in our hearts with caring and sympathy… we hold…we hold you in our minds with the knowledge that you have the courage and the wisdom and the perseverance to finish you own lives…Yes, time does not stop…You have added her memory to all that you know…Know and think, she needed you…and she had you…we may ramble, but know these words are from our hearts…They are what we have lived…very sad days to come…these days that you now know…our words may not be in perfect order, but know that they are the words that we have lived, we have felt…words that we hope you will have the knowledge, of what you are living this moment…Sally, Perry, remember our lives, the feeling of the loss of the loves of your life…the circumstances, the difficulties in everyone’s life will male each of you a better person…
You may want to ask G-d, why her before me…There is no real answer because this is life as we live it…
These are not the beautiful words of your rabbi…these are the words of a “Best Friend”…
Yes, the love for your daughter and sister will create memories…memories that will live in your minds forever…good, bad, you loved Mindy…these memories are truly personal, know that the good parts of Mindy are your most private and meaningful ones…There was goodness, no matter how or when…there was!!!...
The loss of a child, at any age, is the terrible pain a parent may feel…a heart and a mind remembers the, yes, wonderful parts of your child’s life…The words spoken at funerals are always and ever, sadness personified…You will hear the goodness of the child that is now gone…For you, a child and a sister will be the rest of your lifetime…
Time will never take all the pain…It will soothe…Your thoughts on your own lives, most likely, will never be the same, but, you must go on, as it is said…These words are from Bea and Al…from our hearts and minds…we will be there for all the rest of our hearts and minds…call, speak to us whenever, however…you may want us to do for you, speak to you…we will be there, always, for you…for you we will be constant…know that, to ease your heart, if we could take away some of your pain, we would…\
We thank you for your friendship…
Each of us is different, but, difference does not change the love we have “Best Friends”…You are “Family”….

Robin,

I am so, so sorry and sad to hear about Mindy. I can't begin to imagine what you and your parents are going through, my heart goes out to you.

I've thought about Mindy so often over the years. We'd been such good friends and had spent so much time together. She was an integral part of my life and such a special person. I have fond memories of many moments - hanging out in your parents kitchen, making grilled cheese sandwiches and eating them at the pink sea shell table; going to the Billy Joel concert and dancing in the mash pit; saying good bye when we went away to school; going trick or treating; so very many memories. We'd lost touch but I still feel a great loss. She was my best friend.

Please let me know if there's anything at all I can do. My deepest, heartfelt sympathies and condolences go out to you and your parents.

Sincerely,
Karen Elkin
