Obituary for Seymour J. Bagan

Seymour J. Bagan, age 100, of Lincolnwood, IL passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, July 19th.  Adoring husband of the late Joyce Elaine Bagan, nee Klass, for 65 years; devoted father and father-in-law of Grant (Laurie) Bagan and Carolyn (Tom) Hogan; loving grandfather of Ashley (Matthew) Goldfarb, Michelle (Brett) Winterstein and Stacy (Steven) Zendel; proud great-grandfather of Logan, Sydney, Hayden, Parker, Liv, Brody and Max; cherished brother of the late Lois (late Dr. Harold) Galvin and the late Bernard (late Theda) Bagan.  Valued uncle, friend, and role model to many.   Mr. Bagan served our country with pride in the US Navy during World War II and was engaged in several key battles in the Pacific Theater.  He was an early innovator in the automated beverage and food business, forming Vend-O-Matic with his brother Bernard and his dear friend Nathan Boehm.  Mr. Bagan was a long-time member of Bryn Mawr Country Club and loved being with his friends on the golf course.  But what he cherished more than anything was time with his family, which he adored.  Seymour never missed the opportunity to lend a helping hand to someone in need, which he did often and with an open heart.  In life and in death, he is an inspiration to all who knew him.  Graveside services Thursday, 1:30 p.m. CT at Memorial Park Cemetery, Monorah Section, 9900 Gross Point Rd., Skokie. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Israel Guide Dogs https://israelguidedog.org, North Shore Congregation Israel https://www.nsci.org or the charity of your choice.
