I just learned of Dan's passing while reading of the passing of his mother in the JUF news today. My deepest condolences to the entire family on the loss of 2 family members within such a short time. I cannot imagine the depth of your grief. Dan was one of the residents who supervised me as an intern at Michael Reese Hospital back in 1988. He was one of those guys who left an impression (I'm sure I'd be hard-pressed to recall the names of the other residents I interacted with during that year). He had a kindness, an authenticity, a gentleness, and a genuine curiosity about medicine that made him stand out among his peers. Of course, I'm sure you all know that already... I only had the privilege of working alongside him for a couple of months many years ago. Please know that he has touched SO many lives along the way. May his memory be a blessing. -Dr. Heidi Meredith
