Rodney Shapard, Sr.

This is close to losing a son. In our town, Mt Lebanon, Pa the schools were spaced so that everyone walked to school. My son, Bruce and several others always walked together. They saw the orange and black tree trimming trucks, were fascinated with the name and decided to call themselves the "Asplundh's". They have continued through out their lives to keep in touch, go to each other's weddings, etc. Bruce lived just down the street. He spent at least 4, possibly as many as 6 years on my son's little league baseball team that I coached. I loved all these kids. They were all great, became good men and Bruce was at the top. The director of our little league asked me to do him a favor and draft Bruce because Bruces's dad was his boss and Bruce wanted to be with us. I wouldn't have had it any other way. I am deeply saddened by this loss and feel so bad for his wonderful family.
