Obituary for Ronald Butler

Ronald Butler, age 79, of Riverwoods, graduate of Northwestern Law School in 1961, former Assistant States Attorney of Cook County and Chief of Civil Appeals, successfully argued before the U.S. Supreme Court, Partner with Winston & Strawn 1969-1980, Founding Partner of Butler Rubin in 1980 until his retirement in 2003 and retired Associate Professor of Law at Chicago-Kent Law School; beloved husband for 57 years of Lynne, nee Dobrin; loving father of Susan (Kevin Johnson) Butler-Johnson, Keith (Sarah) Butler and Rick (Holly) Butler; adored Papa of Kyle, Joshua, Jessica, Emma, Will, Jayne, Jillian and Georgia; dear brother-in-law of Ilana Dobrin; treasured uncle of Dena (Adam) Cohen. Ron left an indelible mark on the countless lives he touched. He will forever be in our hearts. Service Friday, 12 Noon at The Chapel, 195 N. Buffalo Grove Rd., Buffalo Grove (1 blk N. of Lake Cook Rd.). Interment Shalom Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Parkinson’s Disease Research Society (PDRS), 25 N.
